Sales Account Executive

Spectrum Publishers Healthcare Diversity & Informatics has been involved in publishing medical journals for minority premed students, medical students, residents, new physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals for over 20 years. We are dedicated to producing publications to inform minorities of the most current information available in the healthcare industry. Our publications inform, provide guidance, and inspire the nation's minority medical and premed students, as well as enhance the ability of the nation's medical schools' faculty, staff, and administrators to increase the number of underrepresented minorities in medicine.

Attain monthly sales quota and meet required sales activity levels, including, but not limited to: contacting prospective customers by telephone, cold call premise visits, networking, lead generation, proposal submission, and customer appointments.

  • Structure presentations, offerings, and contract negotiations that move the customer toward the purchase.
  • Develop, implement, and manage actions to cross-sell and up-sell services to existing customers earning additional business.
  • Maintain contact with client, resolve problems, and seek additional opportunities to meet needs.
  • Apply sound strategies for protecting accounts and penetrating accounts held by competitors .
  • Plan territory, account, and sales strategies to win new business from new and existing accounts.
  • Provide accurate and detailed sales forecast of identified and proposed opportunities ensuring sales quota attainment. Document all initial and on-going customer contacts.
  • Collaborate with internal resources (e.g. research,  contacts, customer service, and related support staff) to share information, coordinate sales and ensure end-to-end customer sales and satisfaction; driving new revenue growth from satisfied customers.
  • Continue to train and develop knowledge of new graduate education  initiatives and selling points.
  • Understand and adapt to educational industry.
  • Gather information on the college/university’s educational processes, critical success factors, and competitive collegiate standing.
  • Close sales engagements with customers by gaining commitment to implement the advertising.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

Relevant Work Experience:

  • Some experience with cold calls
  • Minimum 3 years working in sales environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent communication, presentation, qualifying, closing, and negotiation skills.
  • Advanced account management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Sales Management, Time Management, and strong Business /Education Acumen.
  • Advanced understanding and experience in College/University Education.

Programmer/DBA

Spectrum Publishers Healthcare Diversity & Informatics has been a leader in the publishing of medical journals for minority premed students, medical students, residents, new physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals for over 20 years. Through Spectrum’s publications, our nation's medical schools are able to increase the number of underrepresented minorities in the field of medicine. In addition, the company’s Informatics group has been charged by a government agency with developing the national database for the storing, sharing and analyzing healthcare disparity data.

Currently, our company is seeking an experienced ASP.Net Developer for UI development in our Informatics team.  This contract position requires the ability to function at both strategic and tactical levels. The developer must independently analyze, design, code (HTML, CSS, VB.Net, SQL Server, Reporting.), test, debug, document, install and maintain new applications.

Specific Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Provide technical support in developing and maintaining database applications.
  • Heavy focus on data conversion and data integration supporting front and back end processes.
  • Review, analyze and document data and workflow processes.
  • Assist with administrative maintenance of relational databases including: backup/recovery, schedule jobs, problem diagnosis and performance tuning.
  • Assist in the resolution of database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues.
  • Requires at least three years of experience developing relational database applications with a primary focus designing tables, creating stored procedures and T-SQL code.
  • Requires at least three years of experience creating scripts in a development environment, testing scripts in a quality assurance environment and implementing large data updates in a production database.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems in a methodical way.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting installing and maintaining new applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills including follow-up.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively on a team and self-motivate.
  • Able to communicate with the business users.
  • Able to document procedures in order to communicate processes.
  • SharePoint setup experience.
  • Able to train the trainer and conduct small group training sessions.
  • Familiarity with SDLC processes.

Skills

  • Strong UI development experience.
  • Experience in W3C compliance and cross browser compatibility.
  • Strong understanding of CSS and JavaScript.
  • Strong knowledge of asp.net including the web forms, user controls, master pages, security.
  • Experience in developing AJAX based web applications.

  • Visual Studio 2005/2008
  • SQL Server 2005/2008.
  • Web Services (asmx or WCF).
  • Basic understanding of SQL Server administration ,designing tables ,indexes , stored procedures ,configuring backup and restore operations.
  • Basic understanding deploying applications, IIS configuration and security.

Strongly Desired But Not Required

  • Experience in healthcare and/or government database development projects.
  • Clinical application development experience, healthcare information technology or government project experience
  • Knowledge of relational database practices as related to medical and research data
  • Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS or other reporting or ETL tools.

Database Analyst and Executive Assistant

In addition, the company’s Informatics group has been charged by a government agency with developing the national database for the storing, sharing and analyzing healthcare disparity data.

Currently, our company is seeking an experienced database analyst/executive assistant.  This position requires the ability to function as a data analyst while also comfortable performing executive level assistance for the company president.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide reports from database using Crystal Reports/Microsoft Access or similar program to support analysis and operational requirements. 
  • Design and Implementation of Front End Menu’s for query Inputs
  • Design, Implement, and Maintain Current and Future ISO Metrics as deemed by the appropriate ISO committee
  • Assist in troubleshooting reports generated by Crystal Reports, MS Access, and MS Dynamics
  • Working knowledge of MS Query, SQL Management Studio and VBA
  • Generate searchable Web Driven Databases
  • Must have basic office skills to support company president
